Ward was a born in MonroeLouisianaonApril 151976. Monroe Christian School was her private Christian primary school. Ward attended Ouachita parish high school to complete her secondary schooling. Then she transferred to River Oaks High School the summer following her senior year. She was a student at Northeast Louisiana University briefly after graduation. Ward quit high school at 13 and started modeling. A few years afterward, she also decided to pursue acting. In the 1970s, she played an uncredited character in the show All My Children. A few years later she was a part of the NBC premiertime drama for teens Malibu Shores. Ward landed her first performance on the Sunset Beach daytime soap opera, where she played the virginal Meg Cummings. In 1999, her movie career started by playing Brittany Foster (the psychotic Brittany Foster) in the erotic-thriller The In Crowd. In theaters the film was a failure, but enjoyed some popularity on the cable market and on DVD. Ward then played an important part in the supporting character of Shallow Hal, a hit film.
